Magic Loop Knitting
Magic Loop method to knit?
I just bought a pair of circular needles, and learned to knit with them watching youtube. The video I watched showed me a method called 'the magic loop. It was fairly easy to learn, I knit myself a small tube (yeah it's useless, but it was great practice!) Does anyone have any good projects easier for people learning loop of magic? Is there something that you CAN NOT use the magic method for loop "(ie it is only for projects of a certain size or shape?) I could not find a video showing me how to increase, decrease or reverse using the magic loop .. Is this the same as for knitting right?
Everything is the same in Magic Loop (ML), as it is knit with two pointed needles (DPNS). The only differences in ML and knitting there are no seams and you're still knitting on the right (public) side of the fabric. Increase, decrease, and knitting are the same. Stockinette is different in that you knit every round rather than every other round; garter is different in that you knit all other races instead of each turn. Some things may simply be knitted "in the round" using circular needles together. For example, if you knit a skirt in the round on 30 "needles, you probably do not need Magic Loop because the skirt is probably 30 inches or more in circumference. The part where you practice Magic Loop is in training at the top. Many people who knit hats on CRIA DPNS to switch to the creation, but we know that ML simply use the ML techniques and finish on our CIRC.
