Mythical Evil Creatures

Evil mythical creatures?
I need an evil mythical creature to play quite a major part in the story I’m writing. It’s a romance story so the creature has to resemble some sort of human characteristics (eg: 2 arms, 2 legs, 2 eyes, etc). I’m thinking alone the lines of vampire or werwolf but obviously not those because they’ve already been done to death! It would be really excellent if the creature could have a Chinese sort of link (ie: a dragon but obviously not that because dragons are considered to be very good creatures in Chinese culture.) Thanks for your help! ![]()
Sorry, I forgot to mention, it has to be a male one since my main character is female!
you should check out http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jiang_Shi its like a chinese vampire but not quite the same. thats about all i could find easily.
