Runescape is a very popular Multi Massive Online Role Playing Game (MMORPG), which was created by Andrew Gower, and is currently owned and operated by Jagex Ltd. The supply of game methods of play: free and paid. Runescape currently has more than 9 million active players in Free, and more than 800,000 subscribers paying members. The game is written in JavaScript and can be read via a standard web browser such as Internet Explorer or Firefox.

Runescape transports players the realm of fantasy Gielinor. This world is also divided into several kingdoms Misthalin, Asgarnia, Kandarin, tropical volcanic Karamja, desert Kharidian dry desert, and of course the desert. The desert is the only region that players now battle May or a "player-killer" of another. Currently the only mode of transportation is walking or running. In Cambridge University undergraduate, Andrew Gower worked on writing the game with the help of his brother, Paul Gower. Through many trials and tribulations, finally RuneScape was released publicly in beta form, January 4, 2001. The game was operated from the House in Nottingham. Finally, the brother duo tagged the name of the company Jagex.
About a year after the beta was released the brothers decided to open up services members for Runescape. This would allow players to pay a small monthly fee to access new skills in game items and a variety of other features not available to free members.

With the continued growth of the game Runescape the challenges of updating also the technological aspects game as well. As written in JavaScript game was easy to suspect a "hacks.Â" This has forced developers to rewrite Jagex complete engine games. This rewriting has also added a look more three-dimensional feel to the game as well. This version of the game became known as called Runescape 2, but has since taken full ownership of the original Runescape Classic. Runescape 2 was originally issued to all paying members around Earlier in December 2003 and was sent to members free of March 29, 2004. As of January 12, 2006 Runescape Classic is only available to play if you members are a subscriber.
There are currently Runescape servers located in 7 different countries! With more than 130 servers in total, and new servers are constantly added due to the overwhelming popularity of the game. Currently, each server can accommodate 2000 Runescape players, it allows servers to take about 260,000 gamers simultaneously at any given time. The servers are divided into free and member worlds worlds.
