Like The Little Ones shudder at the ultimate night of make-believe, it is a pleasure for us to see our Halloween cakes inspire looks of such surprise and joy on their faces.

This cauldron cake, we created a design as a spin off of the volcano cake, lends itself well to the imagination a cake decorator. And if you're not sure add to the brew, ask the children. Then as a surprise, just before serving, add some dry ice to steam Magic.

Halloween Cauldron Cake

What you need

 · Bundt pan or large, glass bowl in the oven

 · Sturdy, round cake plateau

 · Orange or red foil gift-wrap to cover cake tray and miniature red and / orange lights (optional)

Bake a cake business (such as butter, the pound or the pumpkin) inside the greased and floured or a bowl. If using glass, lower the oven temperature to 25A °.

Mix equal parts of flour, vegetable fat and vegetable oil. First cream the shortening, then add vegetable oil and flour. Blend until smooth.

While your cake is cooking, cover your cake tray with aluminum foil. After the cake has cooled the pan or bowl on rack, release.

If necessary, the base level so that it rests evenly on your round cake pan.

If you used a glass bowl to bake your cake pan, you may need a slice couple inches above the bottom where it narrows so that the larger and heavier share of the pie has a substance strong enough.

Then cut a wella "A" broad enough to hold a glass of juice small or jelly jar. If you used a Bundt pan, you have good, although you may need to expand. Then lay the glass gently down into the well.

Tip: String licorice makes big spider legs!

For dramatic effect, Tuck miniature red and orange lights around the base of the cake. This will a strong reflection for the foil-covered cake plate.

Just before serving, put your witch's hat on and tell the guests party you have a special cake mixing, but to make the magic work, you need to recite from Shakespeare: "Double, double, toil and trouble, fire burn and cauldron bubble! "
