Are katana is illegal in Britain?
Because I am really confused with this, I know that REP / Fantasy money, but I heard you can still buy them if you do it with MA. I searched everywhere on the internet but I can not find anything anything who could tell me I was on the site of the gov, the weapons sites etc etc help with this welcome Morgan UPDATE: you never guess where I found the information … Wikipedia! thats right kids, the site controversal is the only place I could find information. If you practice a MA (I'm assuming it has to do with a sword in this, not karate (way of the open hand), so something as Iodio) and if you or a "serious collector" if the sword was Made in Japan before 1954 or made by traditional Japanese methods (thank you tamanagoe-sorry cannot spell it) you guys for your help Morgan
Yes hello there you noticed too! It seems that our dear MPs banned something they are not too sure. If you look at the web page Home Office tries to break it down, but Falls to do so. I understand the sale and import of imitation samurai swords are now illegal in the United Kingdom. If you are caught in an import or sell the one you facing a large fine and possible imprisonment. But wait it then says that if you are a practicing martial artist or serious collector, you can always buy the real thing? The problem is who says where the arts are allowed to participate? If you are a licensed martial artist like me, how do you prove? Do you send copies of your weapons license? And if so where? The police? Suppliers? And who defines what is a serious collector? Does someone buying real swords or a person who buys antiques? Following confusion, it does not say if its illegal to possess one or the other? I welcome this ban i really do. There was a sword shop where I saw the sale of these replicas for every Tom, Dick and Harry. However, my store Local martial arts has lifted all samurai swords both real and replica of his shop and he has sold weapons to licensed practitioners! On a very sad note, I just read the headline news of 3 children being stabbed by their parents. This prohibition will not prevent strokes knife only greater sentences can. Even importers who are the best blades will not ship to the United Kingdom more.
Link provided just for you to sulk and read some interesting facts! http://www.chenessinc.com/ This is a farce, but that's what living the United Kingdom is everything! Best wishes idai

Early Development Of Guided Weapons In The Uk 1940-1960
$132.16 The study highlights the involvement and influence of the US on the British guided weapons programme. The bilateral exchange of information and technology, and the agreements which ensued were a major determinant of formulation of Britain's foreign and defence policy post World War II. Another aspect revealed by the examination of the UK guided weapons programme is the role of the Commonwealth in Britain's post-war defence planning. Nearly all the countries of the commonwealth contributed to the programme, and the most tangible result of this involvement is the long-range weapons testing ground in Australia.brThe development of Britain's first-generation guided weapons has hitherto been a field largely ignored by military historians due to the lack of information and secrecy that surrounded the projects. Recently, however, government documents made available in Britain and the United States have made it possible, for the first time, to piece together the inner workings of the UK guided weapons pro |
